Dinner on A Dime!!

So with the expense that comes with moving and starting up in a new house we have been on a bit of a tight budget and I have a very small amount to work with when it comes to groceries for the next two weeks. Being very determined I did a little looking online yesterday for some new recipes (all mine got left in Vegas), I only have some of them memorized so I was gonna need some fillers. Well I have now found a new family favorite!!! It was VERY SIMPLE AND VERY TASTY!!!! I figured I should share just in case any of you are looking for something new! Here is the website I got it from!!

Chicken Broccoli Twist!!!

Ingredients:

3 cups uncooked corkscrew-shaped pasta
2 cups broccoli flowerets
2 medium carrots, sliced (about 1 cup)
1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Broccoli Soup
1 3/4 cup Swanson® Chicken Stock
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cans (4.5 ounces each) Swanson® Premium White Chunk Chicken Breast in Water, drained
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:

Prepare the pasta according to the package directions in a 3-quart saucepan, without salt. Add the broccoli and carrots for the last 5 minutes of the cooking time. Drain the pasta mixture well in a colander. Return the pasta mixture to the saucepan.
Stir the soup, stock, garlic powder, black pepper and chicken in the saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the mixture is hot and bubbling. Sprinkle with the cheese.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with romaine salad tossed with fresh chopped basil and Italian salad dressing. For dessert serve vanilla yogurt.
Cost per recipe: $9.77
Cost per recipe serving: $1.95
Total cost of meal (including serving suggestion): $14.91

Jimmy liked it soo much that he took the left overs to work today!! :)
Oh and I actually made this recipe for less because I used the generic versions of the ingredients!!
It really did only take 30 min from start to on the table!!!! :)

Sounds good! I will have to try that. You should have all of your friends e-mail you their favorite (cheap) recipes. That way you can have a little memory of your friends as you cook away in your new home!
