Flash Back Friday!

( I love the way Jimmy is looking at me in this picture!)

Two years ago Jimmy and I had just returned from the most amazing trip to Hawaii! It may seem silly or odd that I am still reflecting on this vacation but it was truly a blessing in our lives at a time that it was needed most.

We had been trying to have a baby for a year and a half and I had suffered two difficult miscarriages. I was frustrated and sad, wanting to know why my body wasn't working the way I wanted it to. Well in March of 2007 Jimmy's good friend called us to inform us that he was getting hitched in Hawaii in just a few weeks! We had just received our tax return and decided to go! We were both so excited to go on a vacation, we hadn't really been anywhere without the kids so it was very much needed.

The 5 days and 4 nights we spent at the Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu were some of the best days of our lives! We relaxed, ate, went snorkeling and enjoyed each other, no stress, no kids, no worries. It was a sad day coming home, not that we didn't miss our kids, but it definitely left us wanting to come back! It had strengthened our marriage and it lifted our spirits and the weekend we got back I became pregnant with our sweet baby James!!

This time in my life taught me so much about the Lords timing, and how when we rely on him all things are possible. It might not happen the way we thought or at the time we planned, but the Lord knows us best and when it is time, He will bless us. He will carry us through the waiting and the trials, through the pain of loss or sorrow, and then when it seems the most dark His light will guide us.

Today is also a day of reflection on a friend whom I lost nearly two years ago in a car accident, today is her birthday. Kaytee May Anderson would have been 25 today, I miss her so much and think of her all the time. Her laugh, her smile, her witty sense of humor, oh how we miss you Kaytee! Happy Birthday

One last item for this post. Since I will be moving to Colorado in just a few short weeks, my wonderful friend Marissa is putting together a going away party for me. If you are interested in coming then please let her know, here is a link to her blog . She will keep you informed of the time, place and date. I really hope that you can come, we are planning on taking lots of pictures so I will have all your beautiful faces to take with me!! Love to you!

I would love to go to Hawaii with just my hubby, maybe we should plan a couples trip and all go. I still can't believe Kaytee is gone, she was such a sweet girl!
