What they have in common

There are two girls that I know that in many ways couldn't be more different. One is sweet, gentle and very sensitive and the other is wild, adventurous and tough. One of them lives to please and the other lives to tease! They are even different in appearance, one has straight dark hair and the other has light curly hair, funny how that even fits their personalities. My life would not be complete without these to very unique people and with all that is opposite between them there is one important thing that they share, it's that they are sisters! My Grace and Lexi are so different as those of you that know them could attest to, and yet they love each other so deeply. They don't like being apart for too long and they love to play dress up, house or school together. As their Mom I feel blessed to have these two daughters of our Heavenly Father in my home.
One helps put laundry away and the other plays with the laundry.
One loves to be good and well what can I say for that face! :)

One loves to help cook and the other likes to watch us. :)

They sure do love each other!

As I was thinking about my girls as sisters I began thinking about my own sisters. Oh how we are different, let me count the ways (that might be too long to post).
There are 4 of us "Holler" girls the older three of us are close in age and then Emily brings up the tail end and is 12 years younger than me. We physically look similar but our strong but different personalities made it tough when we were younger to see eye to eye unless we were fighting!! :)
My Mom was always trying to get us to get along and perhaps there have been a time or two even since we have been older that she was banging her head against the wall :).
With all that said, I love my sisters, perhaps more than they might know. Distance keeps us from seeing each other very often but they are amazing women whom I look up to and wish I could be more like. Alyssa and Janna are raising wonderful children whom I love dearly and I am sure when Emily is old enough (like 30) to have a family she will raise her kids well also. Rather than list all the ways we are different I thought I would list a few qualities for each of my sisters that I admire!
Janna (the oldest)- Sweet, Sensitive, Spiritual, Child like (i.e Disney fanatic), Forgiving, Humble
Alyssa (1st in Command, 2nd born)- Strong, Fun, Outgoing, Brave, Laid Back, Knowledgeable
Emily (the Baby) - Smart, Funny, Easy going, Sassy, Driven, Creative
Wonderful women whom I am privileged to call Sister.

what a cute post! It is interesting to see how differently our kids turn out, and how we love them for different reasons. Your lil guy is getting so big!

Cute post! I finally saw all of your sisters! Oh I checked out that terribly depressing but beautiful blog. I put it as one of my favorites so I can be inspired when I feel like my life is so horrible.

I felt like I was reading about my own boys when you were writing about your two daughters. It was like you were describing their personalities to a T. Funny how that happens, even in brothers. It was great tot see the pictures of your sisters. I honestly didn't know about your younger sister. How awful is that?? Anyway, my husband did the Shapeworks Ultimate Program on that website. I am actually selling it, which is why I have it pasted everywhere. :0)

It was fun to read about your 2 little girls and how opposite they are. I am coming to Vegas this week, if you want to do lunch on Thursday?

I love SISTERS! I love my sisters. They are my best friends. I feel very much the same about mine as you do. I admire so much about them, try harder to be more like them, and yet we don’t see eye to eye on everything. Your girls are sooo lucky to have each other. I too am so happy that my girls are sisters

What an adorable post! See right there is a reason it would be great to have another girl. Your two girls are seriously adorable and I LOVE that they are so different. It just goes to show that these little people definitely come with their own little personalities. Anyway, loved this post and reading about your own sisters too.
