Slacker Blogger!

Just call me Slacker! I totally deserve it for the fact that my blog has been left soooo alone in Bloggy Land! I could tell you that the reason is because all I do now days is work work work! My photography business is hoppin and so it takes up all my time, not just spare time, but ALL my time! I could also say that when I am not taking or editing pictures I am taking reprieve in some reading and time with my laundry and Scrubbing Bubbles, not to mention my husband and children!

However I am not going to tell you that instead I will say that I am still alive and breathing most days. Having a slight mid-life crisis? Still deciding on that one since I am not sure if you can have one at not yet 32!! I have lots to show and tell about some projects that have squeezed a little time out of me! So don't give up on me just yet! Now I have to go deal with the almost 12 year old and her parent teacher conferences!! Good times!

Oh and since my friend Rachel is much better at getting pictures on her blog than I am lately I stole these from her! Thanks Rach!! :)

from a fun day picking berries with Buddy!!

Another fun day out at the Zoo with my friends Rachel and Michelle! Thanks Rachel again for the stolen pics! I swear one day I will get my act together (probably not, but it's fun to hope)

A Tiny Bit

I haven't had nearly the time I would like to blog lately! Every time I have been at the computer I have had other responsibilities calling me and then the desire to sit and look at the screen for even a moment longer seems too long!! So while I still intend to write lengthy posts about the very important events as of late, today there will just be some pictures that represent some of the pure joy my life truly has been!

Sleepy Shutterbug!

This past weekend was a whirlwind! Saturday I was up early so I could be on the road to Colorado Springs for a family photo shoot, then I headed to my in-laws to meet Jimmy and the kids followed by lunch at Noodles N Company and then headed to the foothills (far away) for my cousins wedding! Whew! Sunday was the girls Primary Program and me filling in for an absent nursery worker and then after church a few visits from people in the ward, some kids that wanted to rake our yard and making Alfredo sauce from scratch to go with the "Linner" (lunch/dinner). I then headed upstairs to upload the pictures off my memory cards but fell asleep at the keyboard, so I found a comfy spot on my bed and took a much needed rest, Awww!

Well I woke up and it was about bed time for the kids so Jimmy and I hung out and watched a movie and then because I wasn't tired I read some from my latest book and wrote some of the one I am working on and then sat to try looking at the pics again. Success. I have to share a little bit!

( I was not the main photog, my cousin just asked me to bring my camera along, he was the groom, oh and I don't usually do lots of the lens flare thing, but I kinda like it in this shot. My uncle Steve married them, it was a nice ceremony. )

Don't Ask! Flashback Friday! I know it's not Friday anymore, just pretend!

In not so many words, it's been a long week and yet short at the same time! I am late on my post but who the crud cares, really??

This is my ALL time favorite studio picture of myself as a little kid, actually maybe of all time!! I think it captures me in my essence, happy! I mean how could you not love that face, no wonder my Mom kissed it all the time! :) I promise I have lots to post about and will do it soon!

Love to you

Your Hands Will Clap! , Career Change & Flashback Friday!!

This video has been a favorite of mine for quite sometime and I thought I really shouldn't keep this groovy goodness to myself any longer! I LOVE the old ladies that are givin it to the guys with a smile on their faces :)!!

Career Change!!
A change of heart has come upon me in recent weeks after our visit to one of the amazing museums here in the Denver area! This was the natural history museum and it has some of the best displays I have seen (granted I am coming from Vegas), but still very good! My parents went with the kids and I and it was a really fun afternoon. It also brought about my new love and a change in direction for my photography career! I have decided to take up Wild Life Photography (wink wink), I figure since I work with them on a daily basis, I am accustom to the danger and risk at hand! The best part about the wild life at the museum was that it was very "attentive", it made it much easier to get my shot! I was well prepared for the quick motion of such creatures but these animals were extremely docile and well trained, if only I could get my "wild animals" to be as such! LOL

James Looking at the bugs!!

This picture makes me laugh because we had told Grace that everything in the displays had been alive at some point......You should have seen her face when she saw this display of Native Americans!! LOL :)

Flashback Friday!! Christmas Past!
I love this picture for a few reasons: One, because I am holding my First Real Cabbage Patch Doll (I had one made by a neighbor) and Two, because just behind me you can see some white tubes that were actually the bunk beds that my Grandma Holler made for all of us for our dolls! I had actually walked in on her working on them and all I saw was these white plastic tubes and she told me she was making something for my Dad. I took her for her word and in fact I didn't put two and two together until I was a teenager! I don't have any living Grandparents so all of my memories of them are very precious to me.

Love to You,

Proof Of Progress!!

I have been working hard for the last several weeks to get my house all beautified and after yesterday I am feeling pretty good about things! Jimmy took the kids to his parents to work on laundry (no washer and dryer yet) so I could work on the house in piece and quiet!! I was able to get so much accomplished and the best part was that it stayed that way for longer than 10 min!! AMAZING RIGHT??!! So before they got home last night I took pics of the areas that are feeling mostly finished so I could show all of you that I haven't just been sitting around eating bonbons (who the crud ever ate those anyway??) There are still a few things needed, like curtains for the family room and some art for the guest room, I have all the ideas in my head but have yet to have the money to acquire the final touches, all in time I guess!!

Guest Room/Office/Sewing Room

The piece in the above picture is one of my favorite finds!! I will be doing a post soon on all the amazing things that I have acquired at garage sales/clearance sections/craigslist (free stuff). But the little table was from a garage sale last weekend, it is a 1940's nurses bed side table, now the significance of that is, my Grandma's nurses uniform from WWII is in the shadow box!! I was so excited when I found it, and even more when I only paid 10 BUCKS!!

Oh this is another favorite bargain find, this was originally 60$ and I paid 11$ at Target on clearance! I have several friends in Vegas that will be loving the print!! :)

To all the husbands out there, please don't be jealous of the fact that my husband goes to bed each night feeling like a princess underneath a canopy! I try to tell Jimmy that it is actually quite functional as it protects us from the mosquitoes :)

I LOVE eclectic stuff, old mixed with new, colors, textures, masculine and feminine styles all together. The little side table above was made by Jimmy when he was in High School and the chair was from Pottery Barn but I got it in a consignment shop for 75$ about 8 years ago!!!

This framed letter is the love note that Jimmy wrote to me when we were 10, I kept it all these years and then decided it deserved to be displayed!!

The woods look really dark in this picture but the day was almost done and there aren't a lot of lamps in there yet! They are more cherry ish and brown, I still have some things I want to refinish in this room but they have to wait in line as I have other projects to do first!!

This is the hallway upstairs that I decided would be the perfect place for lots of old and new family pictures! I am not a sketch it out kind of girl, I just start hanging stuff until I like the way it looks!
